Chad Hembree

Chad Hembree is the Executive Director of The Spotlight Playhouse and Spotlight Acting School in Berea, Kentucky.

Across the Playhouse’s productions, Chad has worn just about every hat: producer, director, playwright, and actor. He is the author of the theater’s signature original dinner shows, including Dracula: The New World, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The Tomb, Love and Murder at Locanda Rossa, Mystery at Monarch Manor, Little Women: Christmas at the March House, The Gift of the Magi, and Tuned in for Murder.

Chad has directed everything from Shakespeare to holiday classics, and his original adaptations of A Christmas Carol have become a Playhouse tradition.

Beyond the theater, Chad publishes BereaOnline.com, Berea’s local news site since 1995, and has served the community as a former Berea City Council member and founder of the Berea Human Rights Commission.
